Belinda Phillips
Founder and Creator of La Luna Lifestyle
La Luna Lifestyle believes in “products with a purpose” ….. the fashion, accessory and homeware ranges are created through an extraordinary collaboration between Belinda and the hundreds of , predominantly disadvantaged artisans from third world countries, that she works with.
Belinda’s unique style emerged out of time spent working within the fashion industries in New York – dealing with the likes of Candace Bergen, Naomi Campbell etc, to Buenos Aires working for a large international accessory manufacturer, to Africa where she became the first fashion editor of a glossy magazine aimed at the African community as well as a fashion buyer for the largest departmental chain in Africa, to Italy, working as a color advisor for an international fashion company. Her diverse background formed the building blocks for the concept of La Luna Lifestyle.
La Luna Lifestyle was founded 3 years ago and is rapidly expanding – enhancing the lives of many artisans as well as having recently opened a shop in Vaucluse, Sydney, as well as wholesaling internationally.
The label is focussed on empowerment of the artisans whilst exposing customers to beautiful pieces that will enhance their look or their environment. All products have their own unique stories which are told through placards scattered around the store as well as online.
The flattering fashion ranges are designed to encourage the femininity and spontaneity within all women. They are free-flowing and enhance all women regardless of age, shape or size.
Belinda’s passion and motivation is to create a “chain of love” – from the artisans, to the retailers, to the customers, without anybody being “ripped off”. She refers to it as “conscious consumerism”!
Belinda is a single mother of two teenage children who are an integral part of the business.
