Interview with Liz Mackinlay, a founder & Chair of the Board, Mary’s House DV Refuge

To be remembered and honoured offers such a special feeling of respect and deep connection. This Mother’s Day, particularly during this challenging lockdown time, we want to offer a special tribute to all mothers, especially those fleeing domestic violence.

So we have created a colour portrait challenge abd onlione event to help raise awareness and funds for Mary’s House domestic violence refuge.

In this special interview we chat with Liz Mackinlay, one of the founders & Chair of the Board at Mary’s House and The Daisy Centre.

Mama Creatives Mother’s Day Celebration

The idea of freedom and safety should be a human right but unfortunately it is not something all people experience.

With the current lockdown laws in place our homes need to be our sanctuaries, but domestic violence abuse has increased exponentially, with up to 30-40% more cases being reported around the world.

Mother’s Day should be a time spent with family, feeling loved , honoured and respected. Sadly, not all women and children will experience this joy in their own homes.

Please consider joining our super special and fun colour portrait challenge, and/or donate to Mary’s House and help make a difference, turning this corona crazy into a colpourful celebration.

You can find all details about our Mama Creatives Mother’s Day celebration on Wednesday 6 May, and colour portrait challenge here.
