Lorraine Murphy is originally from Dublin, Ireland and spent the first eight years of her career in PR and communications strategy. When Lorraine made the move to Sydney in 2009, she recognised a need for a coordinator of blogger and brand relationships in the Australian market and brought her background in PR, digital and communications strategy to assist brands in reaching their target audience by partnering with some of Australia’s most influential bloggers.
Lorraine launched The Remarkables Group in February 2012, from her spare bedroom. The business was the first dedicated influencer talent agency in Australia and went on to secure over $1m in revengue in its first 12 months, with clients including Woolworths, L’Oreal, Schwarzkopf, Origin, Bupa, Qantas, Bonds and Priceline.
Lorraine was named one of BRW’s Five Young Entrepreneurs to Watch and one of Dynamic Business’s Young Guns. She has featured frequently in media, including The Project, Sunrise, Sydney Morning Herald, Collective Hub, Marie Claire, Sky News, ABC News and The Australian.
Lorraine is a thought leader in entrepreneurship, having spoken to over 3,000 up and coming entrepreneurs on three speaking tours with entrepreneur organisation The Entourage as well as being an avid trend-watcher and participant in social media, lecturing on the strategic use of social media at both the University of NSW and Sydney University.
